Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, your safari guide will meet you for a short briefing and then begin the drive to Tarangire National Park, a beautiful park known for its ancient baobab trees, rolling savannah, and large elephant herds. Upon arrival at the park gate, the adventure begins with your first game drive as you explore different areas of Tarangire, especially near the Tarangire River where many animals gather to drink. You may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, and, with some luck, predators such as lions resting in the shade or moving through the grass. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park so you can enjoy the scenery without interrupting the safari rhythm, and in the late afternoon you will continue game viewing before heading to the campsite. In the evening, settle into camp, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner, and spend your first night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
- Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accomodation: Public Campsite in/near Tarangire
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast at the campsite, you will depart for Serengeti National Park, passing through scenic landscapes that shift from local villages and highland views into the endless plains for which Serengeti is famous. The drive itself is part of the experience, and as you approach the park, the sense of scale and openness becomes one of the most memorable parts of the journey. Once inside Serengeti, you begin an en-route game drive toward your campsite, searching for wildlife across the grasslands and rocky kopjes where lions and leopards are often seen. Depending on the season and animal movements, you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, cheetahs, gazelles, and large herds of zebras and wildebeests spread across the plains. By late afternoon or early evening, you will arrive at the campsite, enjoy dinner in the heart of the park, and settle in for an unforgettable night under the Serengeti sky.
- Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accomodation: Public Campsite in Serengeti
Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The day starts early with a sunrise game drive in Serengeti, one of the best times to witness wildlife activity as predators remain active and the plains glow with soft morning light. This is a great opportunity to track lions, hyenas, and possibly cheetahs before they retreat from the midday heat, while also enjoying sightings of grazing herbivores beginning their day. After the morning game viewing, you will continue with a final drive through Serengeti and enjoy lunch along the way before exiting toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you travel toward the crater highlands, the landscape changes dramatically from open plains to cooler, greener elevations, offering a completely different scenic experience. By evening, you will arrive at the rim campsite, where you can relax, have dinner, and prepare for the next day’s descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater.
- Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accomodation: Simba Campsite (Ngorongoro Rim) or similar
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife habitats, often described as a natural wonder due to its dense concentration of animals in a relatively small area. The crater floor offers excellent game viewing and strong chances of seeing lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, and many bird species, while lucky travelers may also spot the rare black rhino. The scenery inside the crater is spectacular, with open grasslands, swamp areas, and forest patches supporting a rich variety of wildlife throughout the year. After a picnic lunch at a designated site near the hippo pool, you will continue with a final game drive as you ascend the crater and begin the return journey to Arusha. You will arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your classic Tanzania camping safari with Infinity Prideland Safaris.
