Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast in Arusha, your safari guide will meet you for a briefing and then begin the journey to Tarangire National Park, one of northern Tanzania’s most rewarding parks for elephants, birdlife, and classic savannah scenery. Upon entering the park, your first game drive begins as you explore landscapes shaped by ancient baobab trees, open grasslands, and the Tarangire River, which attracts many animals throughout the year. You may encounter large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and warthogs, while predators such as lions and leopards are sometimes seen depending on recent wildlife movement and luck. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park so you can stay immersed in the safari experience while enjoying the surroundings and watching wildlife activity near feeding areas. In the late afternoon, you will continue game viewing before driving to the campsite for dinner and overnight, where your first evening in the bush begins with the sounds of nature around you.

Day 2: Tarangire to Central Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will depart Tarangire and begin the scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park, traveling through changing landscapes that gradually open into the vast plains of the Serengeti ecosystem. The journey itself is part of the adventure, offering beautiful views of highlands, local settlements, and conservation landscapes before reaching the endless grasslands that make Serengeti world-famous. Once inside the park, the drive turns into an en-route game drive, and your guide will begin searching for wildlife immediately while navigating through plains and kopje areas where predators are often seen resting or scanning for prey. Depending on the season and recent sightings, you may spot lions, hyenas, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and herds of zebras and wildebeests spread across the savannah. By evening, you will arrive at your campsite in Central Serengeti, enjoy dinner in the wilderness, and settle in for an unforgettable night under a wide African sky.

Day 3: Full Day in Central Serengeti

Today is dedicated to a full day of game viewing in Central Serengeti, one of the best areas for year-round wildlife activity and an excellent base for searching for predators and resident herbivore populations. You will leave camp early with a packed lunch and spend the day exploring different zones, with your guide choosing routes based on wildlife movement, fresh tracks, and the latest sightings shared within the park. Central Serengeti is especially known for lions and hyenas, and it also offers good chances to see cheetahs on open plains and leopards around riverine areas and acacia trees, making it a favorite for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts. Throughout the day, you will also encounter giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, topis, hartebeests, and large numbers of zebras and gazelles across the grasslands. After a long and rewarding game drive, you will return to camp in the late afternoon or early evening for dinner and another night surrounded by the sounds of the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti Wildlife Tracking Day (Central Serengeti or Seasonal Route)

This day is designed to give your safari more flexibility and depth, allowing your guide to follow wildlife movement based on the season, recent sightings, and your interests, whether that means focusing on predator-rich central plains or tracking migration activity in another reachable Serengeti sector. In some months, the best game viewing may remain in Central Serengeti, while in others your guide may prioritize routes toward areas with stronger wildebeest and zebra concentrations, giving you a better chance of witnessing dramatic herd movement or predator interactions. Because you are not rushing out of the park, the day can be planned for quality viewing, patient observation, and longer time at active sightings instead of simply covering distance. A packed lunch will be enjoyed in the bush, and your guide will continue adjusting the route throughout the day to maximize opportunities for memorable sightings and photography. By late afternoon, you will return to camp for dinner and overnight, ending another full day of immersive wilderness experience in the Serengeti.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Crater Rim)

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti while making your way out of the park, taking advantage of the cool early hours when wildlife activity is often high and the light is excellent for photography. This last Serengeti drive can still deliver exciting sightings, from big cats resting after a night of movement to elephants, giraffes, and antelope feeding across the plains as the day begins. You will continue with an en-route safari and stop for lunch before heading toward the Ngorongoro highlands, where the scenery changes dramatically from open savannah to greener, cooler uplands. The transition adds a beautiful contrast to the safari and provides sweeping viewpoints as you approach the crater rim area. By late afternoon, you will arrive at Simba Campsite, enjoy dinner, and rest while preparing for the next day’s early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Lake Manyara Area

You will wake up early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife habitats, where animals live in high concentration within a dramatic volcanic caldera. The crater floor offers excellent opportunities to see lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, hippos, and numerous bird species, and it is also one of the best places in northern Tanzania to have a chance of spotting the rare black rhino. As you move through open grasslands, swampy areas, and patches of woodland, your guide will help you understand the unique ecology of the crater and point out animal behavior along the way. After a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the crater, you will ascend and continue to the Lake Manyara area or Mto wa Mbu for your overnight stay, enjoying beautiful views of the escarpment and surrounding farmland. In the evening, relax at camp, enjoy dinner, and reflect on a day filled with outstanding scenery and dense wildlife viewing.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After breakfast, you will enter Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive, exploring a compact but diverse park known for lush groundwater forest, acacia woodland, open grassy areas, and the alkaline lake that attracts seasonal birdlife. The park offers a very different atmosphere from Serengeti and Ngorongoro, making it a beautiful final chapter to your safari, with chances to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, monkeys, and a variety of birds including flamingos when water levels and season are favorable. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, and while sightings are never guaranteed, your guide will explore the most promising areas while sharing insights about the park’s unique habitats and wildlife behavior. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed during the safari before you exit the park and begin the drive back to Arusha, passing local villages and scenic Great Rift Valley views along the way. You will arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your 7-day extended Tanzania camping safari with Infinity Prideland Safaris.
