The extra day allows for a more relaxed pace and better wildlife viewing opportunities, especially in Serengeti and Ngorongoro, where every game drive can reveal something completely different. Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, your guide will meet you and begin the drive to Tarangire National Park, a park famous for its giant baobab trees, open savannah, and one of the largest concentrations of elephants in northern Tanzania. Once you enter the park, your first game drive begins immediately, following tracks and river areas where animals gather, especially during the dry season when water sources attract large numbers of wildlife. Tarangire is also an excellent park for seeing giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, ostriches, and sometimes predators such as lions and leopards if luck is on your side. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, allowing you to stay immersed in the safari atmosphere while taking in the beautiful views and wildlife movement around you. In the late afternoon, you will continue with game viewing before heading to your campsite for dinner and overnight, enjoying your first night in the bush under the African sky.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast at camp, you will depart for Serengeti National Park, traveling through the highland landscapes and conservation areas that form part of the scenic route to Tanzania’s most famous national park. The journey offers beautiful views and a gradual change in scenery, from cultivated hills and local settlements to the sweeping open plains that define the Serengeti ecosystem. Once inside the park, your safari continues as an en-route game drive toward the campsite, giving you the chance to start wildlife viewing immediately while crossing different habitats and searching rocky kopjes where predators often rest. Depending on the season, you may see lions, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, cheetahs, and large herds of zebras and wildebeests moving across the grasslands. By evening, you will arrive at your campsite in Serengeti, enjoy a hot dinner, and spend the night surrounded by the sounds and stillness of the wilderness.

Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Today is dedicated to a full day of game viewing in Serengeti National Park, giving you more time to explore the vast plains and increase your chances of seeing a wider variety of wildlife and behavior. You will leave camp early with a packed lunch and spend the day moving through different areas of the park, where your guide will track animal movement and choose routes based on recent sightings and seasonal conditions. Serengeti is famous for its predators, so this day often brings exciting opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and possibly leopards, along with huge numbers of grazing animals spread across the plains. If your travel dates align with migration movement, you may witness large concentrations of wildebeests and zebras, making the day even more dramatic and unforgettable. After a long and rewarding game drive, you will return to camp in the late afternoon or early evening for dinner, rest, and another night in the heart of Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti as you make your way out of the park, taking advantage of the early hours when wildlife activity is often at its best and the light is beautiful for photography. This is another chance to spot predators returning from a hunt, elephants moving across the plains, or herds of antelope and zebra grazing in the cool morning air before the day warms up. You will continue with an en-route safari and stop for lunch before driving toward the Ngorongoro highlands, where the scenery changes from open plains to greener and cooler upland landscapes. The ascent toward the crater rim offers sweeping views and a different mood from Serengeti, adding variety and contrast to the safari experience. By late afternoon or evening, you will arrive at the rim campsite, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next morning’s descent into the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara Area to Arusha
You will wake up early for breakfast and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife areas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dense concentration of animals and spectacular scenery. The crater floor offers excellent game viewing in a relatively compact area, with opportunities to see lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, hippos, and many bird species, while lucky visitors may also encounter the rare black rhino. During the game drive, you will pass through different habitats including open grassland, swamp, and acacia woodland, all supporting a rich and varied ecosystem throughout the year. After enjoying a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the crater, you will ascend and begin the drive back toward Arusha via the Lake Manyara area, with scenic views of the Great Rift Valley escarpment along the route. You will arrive in Arusha by late afternoon or early evening, bringing your 5-day Northern Circuit camping safari to a memorable close with Infinity Prideland Safaris.
